National Margarita Day Among Other Things

Today just so happens to be our 23 wedding anniversary, funny how it falls on National Margarita Day.  Coincidence?   I don't think so.  Twenty years ago we ran off to Vegas and got hitched, a very risky business for two people who already failed at one attempt.  But we took the plunge hoping for the best and 23 years later, we're still hanging on to each other. Its been a trip for sure.

Our latest project is starting to look like someone actually gives a shit.  A new roof, a little paint and sod go a long way.  The neighbors who walk their dogs by, the cars that slow down, the space shuttle, all are happy to see the property coming back to life.  Still a long ways to go but day by day we keep plugging along.  Actually I just blog about it and take pix.

We are starting to make plans for the inside now that the outside is making progress.  Gary thinks we should replace the kitchen cabinets. I say we just keep the doors closed.  Duh.

Like I mentioned in my last blog, we play Trivia on Friday afternoons at the bowling alley/bar down the street.  A lot of our New Resident friends play and so we get a chance to get together and realize how stupid we really are.  I like to bring along friends who have never been there hoping that they will make me look smarter  but so far that hasn't work.  I need some really dumb people to go with me.  Let me know if you qualify.

Smart phones are forbidden during Trivia but I have a feeling that a lot of the people who make regular trips to the restroom are not really relieving themselves but I won't point any fingers.  And what do we win?  So far I have no idea because our team hasn't even been close but from what I have heard, we win absolutely nothing!  Why do I keep doing this?  I am including some actual questions from this past week.  If you know the answers, I think I hate you.

I think I need a Margarita after all I am named after the drink.  Not really, I was named after a saint. Obviously.    Margaret

I'm Backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Ok, its been awhile and so after repeated requests from several people and you know who you are, I have decided to re-start my blog and fill in those who are interested in our lives here in southwest Florida.  So let's go back to where we left off.  I see that was July of last year.

Mojo and DeDe are still barking for no reason.  DeDe watches the world go by on the back of the couch and Mojo follows us around so she has the paw on the pulse of this house.  Once we settle in one place, she can relax.

Gary and I bought another house which is again another project.  After looking for several months for properties and losing out on about 10 of them, we finally made a fairly quick decision to buy this one. It is a little bigger than our house now and needs lots of work including a pool but Gary is determined as always so if all goes as planned we will actually move over there and use our present home as a vacation rental.   We have details to work out but we will keep our readers posted and if there is any interest in spending time in sunny Florida next year, please keep us in mind.

Hersheys keeps coming up with new ways to eat chocolate because 5000 different choices are not enough.   We are forever bringing in new items to our stores which is greeted with lots of mixed reactions.  Some people love the samples, some see more work.  Right now we have a closet full of candy and luckily it has been cool enough here the last two months that we don't have rivers of chocolate streaming out the closet.

We had a nice holiday season here and just had our old neighbors here for a few days of fun and relaxation, lots of golf, dancing, beer, food, cards, etc.  So its not all work down here.

Trivia with our Florida friends.

Rudy, Jan, Margaret and Gary - great times.

All good things pass quickly so we made sure to make the most of our time together.  Can we put you on our schedule?  Gives us a good reason to play.   And I'll be back soon.   I promise.  Margaret
